Calls
The Calls tab logs inbound telephone calls handled by the practice automated phone receptionist and staff.
What it does
This screen lists recent phone inquiries received through the practice phone lines. It displays the caller identity, contact number, call duration, timestamp, and call purpose. Calls from verified patients link directly to their clinical record so you can open their chart with one click. It also provides a date filter to review calls from today or across the last 7 days.
When to use it
Use the Calls tab to review patient inquiries that arrived while you were consulting, follow up on urgent phone messages, or verify what advice was given to a patient over the telephone.
Step by step
- In the Results section, select the Calls tab to view logged telephone encounters.

Also on this screen
- Calls tab: Displays logged phone interactions, indicating the practice telephone line on the tab label.
- Last 7 days: Filter control that toggles between today telephone calls and all calls logged over the past seven days.
- Open the patient from a call: Clicking a verified patient name opens their electronic medical record in a new workspace tab; unverified numbers show without a link.

Common questions
How does the system match a caller to a patient chart?
The system checks the incoming caller phone number against verified primary mobile numbers in the patient database.
What happens if an unknown person calls?
Unverified callers appear with their raw phone number and timestamp, allowing staff to match the inquiry manually or register a new patient.
Are telephone call audio recordings stored?
Audio is processed to generate transcripts according to privacy settings, with call metadata recorded in the clinical audit ledger.
