Glossary

Plain-word meanings for the words Diagnify uses. Dates on this site are written DD/MM/YYYY.

A

  • Action ledger — the practice's list of jobs that must get done. The Do today's jobs button runs today's due jobs (up to 20) and batches the drafts on one Confirm card.
  • Action list — your list of jobs for a visit. Accepting a suggestion only adds it to the list; it does not order, send or book anything.
  • Agent D — the assistant built into Diagnify. One main agent talks with you; helper agents read parts of the record and draft. See How Agent D works.
  • Allergy gate — the check that keeps a script card's go button off when the medicine clashes with a recorded allergy, until you record an override and a reason.
  • Audit log — the record of who did what, when. It cannot be edited. Found under Settings → Audit log.

B

  • Block — a diary entry (leave, a meeting) that stops bookings in that time.
  • Bookings board — the day and week view of the practice diary.
  • Bulk bill — billing where Medicare is the payer. Chosen per invoice line (Bulk bill or private).

C

  • Case card — the short summary of the pinned patient at the top of the Agent D chat: who they are, medicines, problems, vitals, last visit, open jobs.
  • Care gap — care that is due or missing, such as an overdue check or vaccine. One helper agent looks for nothing but these.
  • Care team — everyone caring for the patient, including referrals and their status.
  • Chart — the patient record.
  • Co-sign — the press that finalises an Agent D activity note into the record. Until then it is a draft.
  • Confirm card — the card that shows what will happen and asks you to press go or No before anything is sent, charged, booked, called or filed.
  • Consult note — the note document for a visit. It cannot be signed until I have reviewed this note is ticked.
  • Cover cards — the one dialog for who the patient is, their cards (Medicare, DVA), carer, payer and IHI.

D

  • Do it — the button on a suggestion that opens the right tool. You still confirm inside the tool.
  • Do today's jobs — see Action ledger.
  • DNA — "did not attend". The mark on a booking when the patient did not come.
  • Draft — prepared but not filed. A draft script, letter or request says so, and stays a draft until you sign or Confirm it.
  • DVA — Department of Veterans' Affairs. The record header shows whether the patient's DVA entitlement has been checked.

E

  • Edit before co-sign — changes an Agent D note and creates a new draft version instead of finalising it.
  • eScript — an electronic prescription. Instead of paper, a script token is created and goes to the patient electronically.

F

  • Fast Confirm card — when a short typed order (like /labs with a short request) can show the Confirm card straight away.
  • Flag — a feature switch. New features run on the test site behind a flag first; that is why some pages say New (test site).
  • Follow mode — when Agent D opens a screen to show you something, your screen can follow it. The Stay here switch keeps you where you are.
  • Follow-up plan — the plan of review visits and repeats. Its rows feed the Recall drawer.

H

  • Handout — a patient education sheet Agent D can draft for your Confirm.

I

  • IHI — Individual Healthcare Identifier, the number that identifies a patient in the national system. The record shows whether one is on file, and can re-check it.
  • Intake — the questions a patient answers before a visit. Send Intake texts them the secure link.
  • IRN — the individual reference number printed on a Medicare card, checked as part of the Medicare card check (OPV).

K

  • Kill switch — the practice switch that refuses every write and you-only act by Agent D, whatever its card says. Reading and drafting keep working.

M

  • MBS item number — the Medicare number for a billable service. Agent D can suggest eligible ones as drafts; you Confirm them.
  • Medicare — Australia's health insurance scheme. Its card details are checked live (see OPV), and it is the payer for bulk bills.

O

  • OPV — Online Patient Verification. The live check of a patient's Medicare card number and IRN against Services Australia, with a one-press Use new card number? updater.
  • Overview wheel — the circular 11-part summary of a patient's record that replaced the old tab bar.

P

  • Patient app — the mobile app patients use: sign-in, questionnaires, uploads, messages and telehealth calls.
  • Patient request link — a secure one-time link sent by SMS so a patient can give a missing fact (a card number, a questionnaire, a file). Send is yours.
  • Parchment — the electronic prescribing system Diagnify works with to create eScript tokens.
  • Private bill — billing where the patient is the payer.

R

  • Read — act level 1: look something up. Changes nothing.
  • Recall — a planned follow-up the patient must be told about. Managed in the Recall drawer; an urgent recall means the patient must hear today.
  • Recall drawer — where recalls are drafted, booked and (after your Confirm) sent.
  • Record in file — the card that files facts into the chart — a blood pressure you stated in chat, or answers a patient submitted — after you tick the facts and Confirm.
  • Referral — a letter to another clinician, drafted for your Confirm.

S

  • Scribe — the note-writing tool at the top of the Consult panel.
  • Script — a prescription. Write the script saves it on the visit; it is not sent to a pharmacy until you sign and send it.
  • Slash command — a short chat command, like /script, /labs, /refer, /bill, /plan or /recall.

T

  • Telehealth — a video visit in the patient app, booked like any other appointment, or started as an urgent call.
  • Tell your clinic — the message box in the patient app. A new message wakes Agent D, which drafts a reply for your Confirm.
  • Test site — the safe copy of Diagnify where new features run first. Pages marked New (test site) describe them.
  • Tracker — the background monitor that watches patients' home readings (blood pressure, pulse, oxygen, weight, glucose) against the targets the doctor set.
  • Treatment plan — the full guideline plan the treatment engine writes: 14 sections, built for the patient in front of you.

U

  • Urgent recall — a recall where the patient must be contacted today.

V

  • Visit — one consult record, listed on the timeline.

W

  • Waiting on you — Agent D's tray of drafts that need your Confirm, in four groups: Safety, Today, Billing, Admin.
  • Work-up — the diagnostic cards in a consult: red flags, history, exam, bloods and imaging.
  • Write — act level 3: changes the record, and only runs after your Confirm card.

Y

  • You-only — act level 4: sending, signing, charging, paying, finalising. Agent D can prepare these; only you can do them, inside the tool itself.
