Patient returns
The Patient returns drawer allows clinicians to review completed intake questionnaires, patient-uploaded photos, and pre-consultation voice submissions.
What it does
Patient returns consolidates asynchronous clinical data submitted by patients prior to their appointment. Clinicians can review presenting complaints, inspect uploaded images (such as skin rashes or injury photos), listen to voice recordings, and import validated facts directly into the consultation note.
When to use it
Review patient returns before or at the start of a consultation to incorporate patient-reported symptoms and examine pre-visit photos.
Step by step
- Select Patient returns from the consult header or timeline to inspect pending patient submissions.

Also on this screen
- Completed intake submissions: Structured symptom checklists and questionnaires answered by the patient.
- Attached photos and documents: High-resolution image viewer for patient-submitted photographs and external hospital letters.
- SOAP synthesis: One-click action to format patient submissions into structured Subjective findings for your note.
- Audio playback: Secure audio player to listen to patient-recorded descriptions of their symptoms.

Safety (what needs your Confirm)
- Patient submissions represent patient-reported data. Clinicians must verify all statements during the clinical encounter.
- Importing patient statements into permanent consultation notes requires your explicit confirmation.
